Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This privacy policy describes how TMIT bv ("TMIT", "we", "us") handles personal data when you visit www.tmit.be or contact us. We respect your privacy and process personal data in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy law.
1. Who we are
TMIT bv is a Belgian company with registered office at 2275 Lille, Belgium, registered under ondernemingsnummer BE 0XXX.XXX.XXX. For any privacy-related question, contact: thomas@tmit.be.
2. What data we collect
We keep data collection to an absolute minimum. Specifically:
- Website visits: no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies. Only strictly necessary technical cookies (see Cookie Policy).
- Server logs: our hosting provider may log standard technical information (IP address, user-agent, timestamp) for security and reliability. These logs are kept for a short, limited period and are not used for profiling.
- Email contact: when you email us, we process the information you choose to share — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message.
3. Why we process your data
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your message and following up on inquiries | Legitimate interest / pre-contractual measures |
| Executing and administering consultancy or development contracts | Contract performance |
| Bookkeeping and complying with legal obligations | Legal obligation |
| Securing and maintaining the website | Legitimate interest |
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with carefully selected processors acting on our instructions — for example our web hosting provider and email provider. Where relevant, we also share data with public authorities when legally required (e.g. tax administration).
5. International transfers
Personal data is processed within the European Economic Area (EEA) whenever possible. If data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep data
- Email correspondence: up to 3 years after the last interaction, unless a contract has been signed.
- Contractual and invoicing records: up to 10 years, as required by Belgian accounting law.
- Server logs: a few weeks, then deleted or anonymized by our hosting provider.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access your personal data and request a copy;
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten");
- Restrict or object to processing;
- Request data portability;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights, email thomas@tmit.be. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss, unauthorized access, and misuse — including HTTPS, least-privilege access, and up-to-date software.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or in applicable law. The date at the top indicates the latest revision. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
